Pump.fun revises $15 million Callout rewards program after quality issues

Pump.fun co-founder Alon said the platform changed its $15 million Callout rewards program two months after launch, after finding that the first version unintentionally encouraged the wrong kind of behavior. According to Alon, the original setup led to a flood of low-quality posts and weakened users’ incentive to keep producing strong content over time. The platform has since updated the reward algorithm to put more weight on content quality instead of posting volume. Under the revised system, the more Callouts a user publishes in a single day, the lower the marginal reward from each additional post. Alon said the mechanism is still being refined, and that there is still a lot of work ahead if Pump.fun wants large numbers of users to consistently create high-quality content over the long term. He also said the rewards program already covers both top accounts and accounts with fewer than 10 followers, adding that there is no favoritism or special treatment. Alon urged users to focus on recommending quality tokens, build trader trust through content, and earn rewards based on the trading volume generated by their Callouts. He added that spamming Callouts or dumping tokens on followers will not produce lasting returns.
